Development of a coder
My coding started in the mid 80´s prior to buying my first computer – a Commodore 64!
I made some small programs on paper at the age 12 even while saving up to buy the computer. And to my surprise (surprised still today!) the code more or less worked as I had written it. Commodores linebased Basic was my first shot at programming.
At about 16 I got introduced to assembler through a small microcomputer called Didact. At the same time I started to learn Pascal through Borlands Turbo Pascal 5.5. Some years later I was introduced to C and C++ and also Visual Basic (?I think it was version 2?)
My first professional experience of programming was in Borland Delphi 2.0 and some versions after that when I started working at what is now known as Industri-Matematik, where I worked from 1996 to 2005. From 1998 and onward I was mainly working as network- and systems administrator but did some minor coding as well.
After that I just did some personal coding and played around for fun, generally in Delphi and MS “Visual”-environment
And then in 2013 I made a small program for handling Google Apps users as consultant for Ricoh that needed it for one of their customers. I first made it in Python, but later on they wanted it with a Windows style GUI so I moved it to C#.
As a part of moving more towards IT security testing I needed to refresh my programming skills which took me to a 10 week C#-education to get a grade in programming. As a part of the “IT Säkerhetstestare” education at IT-Högskolan we also had a course in Python programming
